Pleasant and popular, cask beer led village pub with a smart 1920s-style décor. Originally the Cliffe Inn, following a major refurbishment in 2006 it became The Horse Chestnut and in 2015 simply The Chestnut. Seven well kept real ales are served including ever-changing guests, always including a local beer. A full food menu is offered plus a range of bar snacks.

Historic Interest

Registered as an Asset of Community Value on the 5th July 2015, following nomination by Radcliffe on Trent Parish Council. On the 5th April 2016, Rushcliffe Borough Council had rejected the Nottingham Branch of CAMRA's nomination of the Chestnut as an Asset of Community Value. This was on the grounds that the local branch of CAMRA did not meet Rushcliffe Borough Council's requirements to be an eligible nominating body.

As at November 2017, the freehold for the Chestnut (NT285151) was held by Openlink Limited [Reg. No. 1992213].
