A city centre pub ideally placed for public transport with Park Lane Interchange 2 minutes away. 7 handpulls offer ever changing real, ales and a real cider. The house ale is locally brewed Darwin Happy Chappie. Good value food is served daily which includes a fish Friday A quiz with free snacks is held every Thursday night. There is plenty of seating either side of the main entrance as well as outside. During the 2021 lockdown the opportunity was taken to extend the back of the pub , offering a quieter area. Note some of the tables here depict secenes of Sunderland industrial heritage. Behind the pub Derwent Street has been closed off as an outdoor seating area.
