This is a club, which means that the bar may be only open to members.

The club was orginally founded in 1762 and came to be known by the name of its head waiter, one Edward Boodle. It moved to its current fashionable premises in 1782; the building was designed by John Crunden and is Grade I listed.

This is the second-oldest club in the world, and membership is by nomination and election only. Many famous politicians and aristocrats have been members here, and literary figures including Ian Fleming who is said to have based James Bond's Blades Club on this one.

If you are a member here, remember that Boodle's Orange Fool is the traditional club dish.

There is a ladies entrance directly behind the club building! But, ladies cannot yet be members.
