Large open plan town centre pub on main shopping street. History dates back to 16th century and has claims to be oldest pub in Melcombe Regis (Weymouth is on other side of harbour) and said to be named after former landlord's black labrador, the first seen in the town. Cafe style seating outside in summer. Recently refurbished and beers now gravity dispensed. Strict children policy - no under 16s at any time; under 18s not allowed after 6pm, both inside and outside. NOTE Can close early ie 6/7pm in winter - longer hours in summer.
