Following the Covid closure, the pub reopened under its old name - The Bickley Arms.

This large pub - which is operated by Young's following their takeover of Redcomb pubs - is close to Chislehurst caves, and benefits from a substantial garden and function rooms. A restaurant area - smaller than before - has been retained, but casual drinkers are welcomed.

Historic Interest

Built in 1870 on the old road between Bromley and Chislehurst in order to serve the re-sited Chislehurst station after the railway was extended from Chislehurst to Sevenoaks in 1868. Original name was the Station Masters Hotel before being changed to the Bickley Arms in 1891 and then to the Bickley Hotel in the 1900s when the Chislehurst Caves first became a popular tourist attraction. At that time, the caves could be entered through the hotel gardens, the Kyd Brook forming the boundary of the gardens.
