A friendly local with a warm welcome. Pub serves its own ‘BELL Ale’ brewed by Pumphouse Community Brewery at Toppesfield.

It has a beamed bar and restaurant area, with an open fire and a separate public bar with TV and darts. There's a pool table, and an outside patio area. Good-value, locally sourced food available. Food is served Monday to Saturday and is a daily special from a ‘hotpot’ on the bar. When it’s gone, it’s gone.

It is linked to the Great Bardfield artists, and a refreshment stop on the Dunwich Dynamo cycle trip. Closing time may vary. If the outside lights are on, then the pub is open.
