Arcado opened in September 2012 in what had previously been a discount shop following a long and protracted planning battle. Located on the corner of what was a tired arcade in the middle of Christchurch’s bustling High Street Arcado is a big old unit with a striking shop front and a custard yellow sign. Internally there’s seating a plenty for up to 130 ‘Loungers’ and there’s even a soupcon of outside seating to the front. Arcado’s ceiling is a concrete meets glossy chocolate masterpiece.
