Superb former 1569 coaching inn. Seven hand pulls. Separate lounge area with comfy leather seating. Family friendly with reputation for good food. Located on main road with good transport links. Wonderful selection of malt Whiskies. Relaxing outside seating area. Town has strong links with the Romans and Hadrian's Wall is nearby. Popular with tourists, ramblers and locals.
