Lying on the Devon side of the bridge over the River Exe, this is a 17th-century former coaching inn has a large, well managed riverside garden, with statues, dining tables and a small children's play area. Dogs are allowed inside and out. Inside is a large collection of rooms that flow one into another. A freshly cooked menu sources local produce where possible and is served throughout the day, including from breakfast time during school holidays from 8am until noon, though alcohol can only be bought from 12 noon.
