This fine old timber-framed coaching inn has recently been refurbished in lighter style. Long and fairly narrow, it offers a varied range of seating and dining areas, served from a single bar. Upstairs is a function room. The Spread was reopened in 2017 after a succession of changes and gimmicky names, with the objective of getting back to basics and offering home prepared pub food. Breakfasts are also available from 11am Wednesday to Sunday.
