A traditional three roomed town centre wet house, a pub since at least 1815. Listed by CAMRA as an interior of some regional historic interest, see http://www.heritagepubs.org.uk/pubs/pubguide.asp

Re-opened October 2013 under the management of Louise Lavender, who is also the landlady of the New Plough Inn round the corner. Purchased from Marston's by Louise in August 2014 and now a Free House. Front bars refurbished Spring 2017 - new seating, lights, carpets.

2 regular beers Marston's Pedigree and Saddle Tank. 1-2 guests - often New Buildings Brewery.

Function room and meeting rooms available. Dining room/function room refurbished Spring 2020. Please book for Sunday Carvery.

Jazz Club - 3rd Wednesday of the month.
