Originally constructed in 1730 and used as a farm, this building was converted into a coaching inn in 1741 to serve the then new turnpike road. Now recently refurbished, the emphasis is on food, although there's enough trade in beer to support two cask ales. Dining areas are spread throughout the labyrinth of rooms that made up the original pub, as well as those of the attached former cottages. Note that seating is limited for those who just want to drink. This is a live music venue, with quiz nights planned for Mondays and various other evening events.
This Pub serves 3 changing beers (from Copper Dragon, Ossett and Timothy Taylor) and 2 regular beers.
