Situated just within the Countesthorpe Conservation Area and named such by an erstwhile landlord who had previously worked as a carpenter. Consisting of: public bar with substantial bay window each side of front door; lounge bar to the rear displaying many interesting photo’s of bygone Countesthorpe on the walls plus a smart dining room annex. Outside are a rear garden and a petanque piste.

Formerly owned by the All Saints Brewery at 103 High Cross Street, Leicester; it came into the ownership of Ind Coope, Burton-upon-Trent in 1929.
