Prominent, town centre ex-coaching inn. Has just reopened after many years of closure and is still being tastefully restored. An outer room with a few tables leads to one large, comfortably furnished room that surrounds the bar on 3 sides. 6 handpumps are in use for real ale with beers from Otter brewery always likely to be featured. The pub focuses on food and offers an interesting menu including breakfast 11 a.m. to noon Monday to Saturday. One wall is decorated with a large collection of station-style clocks. Accommodation should be available from April 2019. There are plans for hosting open mic music sessions.
