Victorian pub near the town centre with a public car park opposite. A genuine free house, with three distinct areas and a courtyard patio with heated awnings. Checkstone Brewery started here in 2016 and supplies the pub with changing ales from an increasing range. Changing real ciders available including occasionally their own Checkstone Cider. Games include pool, darts and there is a skittle alley. Televised sport is prominent and there is regular live music early on Sunday evenings.
