Reopened December 2018 to a high standard. 4 Beers available. Food locally sourced where possible and the menus are seasonal to reflect availability. Purchased in 2006 by the Lowe family it has taken time to restore the inn which included digging a new cellar, building a completely new extension, bar and dining room.

Historic Interest

The inn was built in 1795 wen the Pinxton branch of the Cromford Canal was cut. The wharf was the terminus for the canal,which was built to link the collieries to the river Trent, and is very important to the area's heritage. Coal was mined on a small scale in Pinxton since Tudor times. With the arrival of a branch of the Cromford Canal in the 1790's a localised industrial revolution began.
