Grade-II listed building situated on the historic Barbican in a waterfront setting overlooking Fish Quay. The two regular St Austell beers may be supplemented by a third ale in summer. The welcoming atmosphere is enhanced by cob walls, slate floors and exposed wood beam ceilings. Food is served daily between 1200 and 1700. Televised sport is also shown. Friendly dogs are welcome.

Historic Interest

Grade II listed 21/11/73, exterior listed, interior may be of interest. List Entry No 138 6425, Legacy System No 473812. Warehouse on wharf. Stone inscribed "W. S. 1842". Coursed Plymouth limestone rubble with dressed voussoirs to segmental arches; half-hipped dry slate roof end on to the wharf. Deep plan. 5 storeys; symmetrical 2-window front with doorways to ground-floor openings and tall opening over wider central door with loading doorway to each of the upper floors. C20 2-light casement windows and old ledged doors; weatherboarding between floors to loading bay, some glazing to 1st and 2nd floors, and there is a steel loading bracket to right of upper loading doorway. INTERIOR: not inspected but likely to retain original floors and roof structure.
