The main room is a large, high-ceilinged space, subdivided into intimate areas with a variety of styles and furnishings. An open doorway leads through to the cosy library room, with wood panelled walls and a real fire. Past refurbishments blend well with the original features of the pub, which dates from the late 18th century. The more adventurous visitor will be intrigued to discover a low, sunken room, with barrel-vaulted ceiling, used formerly as a refuge but now containing a pool table. At the front is a smaller bar area, also with a real fire, where dogs are allowed. Meals are served all day.

NOTE: May close earlier in winter.
