An award-winning traditional pub, popular with both drinkers and diners. Originally two adjoining pubs, the left of which is listed and has a fine tiled frontage. Eleven hand pumps serve mostly Butcombe and Liberation Ales and Stan's ciders. Good freshly cooked food is served daily, except Sunday evenings, with gluten free options available. A partly covered courtyard caters for smokers and alfresco drinkers. Sunday evening quiz.

The pub maintains a strict no under 18 policy.

Historic Interest

The left hand part with the Green tiled frontage is the former Pembroke Arms and is Grade II Listed. Historic England list entry 1140116
