Built about 1840 this traditional country pub always offers a warm and friendly welcome. The four compact rooms are all served from a central bar. The pub hosts a range of events in its large garden including the annual Potato Club Show and music festivals together with motorbike rallies and Citroen 2cv rallies. Look at the websites for the many events the pub hosts. The extensive collection of oil lamp is not just for decoration, on monthly Lamp Nights the electric lights are switched off and the lamps are lit, creating a very special relaxed atmosphere. The camping field is open all year round, the clean & useable toilet block has hot & cold running water; prices are £5.00 per tent and £6.00 per caravan or camper van. Opening times are approximate, check before visiting.

Historic Interest

The pub was built in 1840 by the London based Worshipful Company of Haberdashers when they bought the estate. It had previously been owned by William Adams founder of Adams Grammar School Newport.
