The Black Lion in Durdar is located close to Carlisle and only 5 minutes drive from Junction 42 of the M6. It is just along the road from Carlisle Racecourse and gets very busy on race days. The Black Lion uses only local butchers and suppliers. If you are looking for a pub with a great reputation in freshly prepared food this pub may suit you. Sandwiches served Thursday, Friday and Saturday lunchtimes (12-3). Fully refurbished in 2022 with new owners.

Historic Interest

Opened 6 May 1929 (Harry Redfern design) Extended 1969. For sale August 2016 for £225,000. Closed for refurbishment Feb-Oct 2017.Owned by Hawksdale Inns.
