Having been closed in 2002, the Fox & Hounds has been extensively renovated and re-opened in 2009 as the smart Gastro-Pub we now see. It is very large, but although open plan, the internal space has been divided well into several areas. The emphasis is on dining but, because of its size and layout, drinkers need not feel overwhelmed. The feel of the place is bright and modern, boarded flooring, plenty of comfortable seating and masses of paintings and photos on the walls. Also, someone counted 50 caricatures in the toilet! It was once a part of the large local estate of the Shrewsbury & Wem Brewery.
