The brainchild of John Beaumont, the Counting House opened in March 2016 in part of an old bank. A brightly decorated bar with a welcoming atmosphere, it has exposed brickwork, feature light fittings and multiple clocks and mirrors. The L-shaped drinking/dining area has plenty of small tables and small standing areas at the bar and by the door. The Hetton Pale Ale is complemented by three changing beers. These are usually local and often include a darker beer. Branch Pub of the Season Winter 2017/8.
