The British has been ever-present in the guide for over twenty-eight years. An unpretentious free house with wooden floors, cosy settles and an eclectic group of talkative regulars, it is an essential port of call in town. There are four hand pumps and the beers change frequently throughout the week. Time it right and you can savour eight different real ales. The knowledgeable landlord is always pleased to offer his advice. Not to be missed.
