Large town centre pub which is now one of Wetherspoon's flagship hotels. The left hand bar (from the main entrance), features nine handpumps in one bank of three, the other six - the regular beers are on both banks with the three guest ales on the six bank - this bar is not always open. The right hand bar has a bank of six handpumps with the three regular beers and three guest ales this bar is always open.

Only assistance dogs are welcome - this is a Wetherspoon policy.

Historic Interest

Historic England Grade II listed, entry number 1369132. Built 16th century and 17th century with 18th century façade. Formerly an important coaching inn.
