Sitting on the southern edge of Cannock Chase forest, the Park Gate is a welcome sight on the Chase. The rustic bar is popular with walkers and is friendly to dog owners. A central wood burning stove has two cosy alcoves either side. Four ales are on offer. The garden has a children's play area.

Pop-up food stalls in the car park on Fridays and Saturdays (see Facebook for details and times).

The nearby Castle Ring, an Iron age hill fort, offers excellent views.
