This popular village pub near the Kennet and Avon canal (lock 61) has an open and attractive interior. It is close to the Crofton Beam engines and Wiltshire's only working windmill. Real ales are served by a mixture of handpumps and gravity with the beer board displaying the distance to the brewery underlining the commitment to local produce. This is also evident in the good quality food. No evening meals on Sunday. Covered space in the garden.

Historic Interest

A Swan Inn has existed in the village since at least 1724. It moved across the road during the twentieth century from Old Swan Cottage.
