This bustling pub is at the heart of its local community, situated directly opposite the village church. Once part of a farm, it continues its diverse activity today with the operation of an on-site coal supply business. The food is excellent, with extensive specials boards dotted around the room. An annual beer festival, a family charity fun day, takes place in the pub grounds at the end of June, early July including beers from local breweries. Walkers are welcome, and the pub produces its own guide to three local walks, available to download free of charge from their website.
