This pub has won the local CAMRA Pub of the Year numerous times. It offers four regular cask ales plus a further four changing guest ales from local and national micros, including dark beers. One rotating guest cider, six rotating craft kegs and imported bottled beers are also available. The single-room bar has a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere attracting both locals and travellers. Excellent food is served both in the bar and upstairs restaurant, Grill at 31, although the latter is only open Wednesday to Saturday evening plus Sunday.
