This small pub, situated in one of the town’s black and white timbered buildings, is also an award winning independent music venue that hosts weekly gigs. The co-owner has a current and back history of playing the drums in punk bands and brings both top names and new talent to perform at the venue. In addition to music sessions both spoken word and comedy nights feature regularly and attract performers from across the North West and beyond. Many of the events raise funds for local charities. A room at the rear has a jukebox and the outdoor space beyond is a sun trap when the weather allows. In addition to real ales there is an extensive range of bottled and canned British and European beers.The pub offers a CAMRA discount, an afternoon and early evening discount for those over 60 and a reduced price on a pint of Ale to all on Monday’s.
