This is a former coaching inn from the 17th century, though that's only really evident from the outside. It was previously called Scales, due it is said to the practice of weighing jockeys at the pub in its early days. The interior is decorated in a colourful, modern style. Breakfast is offered from 10am, and there's also a daytime menu. There's often live music in the evenings.
