First licensed in 1804 when it was part of a street of shops, this is now a standalone building. The pool/darts room is uninspiring, but the bar has an olde-world feel if you look beyond the modern chrome-and-plastic additions. A small side room has some interesting old photographs, and allows an escape from the music and TV of the bar. Part of the building - the old smoke room - is taken over by a Chinese takeaway.
