The former Sale Hotel is now a Greene King "Hungry Horse" pub restaurant.
The building is on the site of an old Botanical gardens set in the area known as the Moorfield, hence its name. The building still has the old viewing tower for the gardens which is now part of the Managers residence.
The pub was formerly owned by Punch, who had already ripped out most of its old, original features. Now owned by Greene King, it became Grade II listed since they purchased it so many problems have been encountered during the refurb, most of the problems occuring in the cellars. Total cost of the refurb came in at over £1.2 million.
This Pub serves no changing beers and 3 regular beers.
