Rather oddly for this generally up-market area, this is an unpretentious corner local built in 1933 as part of a residential block. Half-panelled and tastefully refurbished in 2010 with film star photographs and original tiffany lampshades restored, it has a warm and welcoming atmosphere for a mixed local clientele including Chelsea Pensioners who enjoy discounts. Newspapers, jukebox and pool table are available, and a small television for rugby matches on terrestrial channels. Previously leased to a Miss Fitzgerald who married a Scots Guardsman and left the place in a mess. It was said it could be like a Wild West saloon when the barracks were nearby.
