A listed building, this popular local sits in the middle of the village a short walk from the railway station. The restaurant, serving good home cooked food, is within the public bar area separated by up-lights from an original wall, with a separate bar for pool and darts. On bank holidays and special occasions live music is performed. The pub holds regular quiz nights and bingo. Accommodation is available.

Historic Interest

Former Railway inn. Also may be listed in Station Rd. During WWII, the pub's cellar was used as a makeshift morgue. A brewery is known to have operated here in 1848.
