What was a traditional corner pub, just a few metres from busy Holloway Road, the George was closed in boarded in 2018 after the tenants left. It finally reopened in summer 2022 as the Stag. Unlike the latter years at the George, no real ale is served at the Stag although there are taps on the bar for Beavertown and Brixton keg beers. Medium-sized U-shaped interior dominated by open horseshoe bar. Now more modern decor, with a white ceiling, turquoise walls, clear windows on two sides, two plain cast-iron columns, bare floorboards. Gets very crowded on Arsenal match-days. Sky TVs. Pool.
