A traditional country inn dating from 1730 in the village centre. There are three interconnecting rooms, with old pictures and items of local history on display. One of the handpumps always serves a LocAle. The wide ranging pub food includes gluten free/vegetarian options. Weekly steak night (Tue), Quiz night (Wed) and Fish lunch (Fri). Monthly music quiz (Sun), six weekly supper club (Thu). Occasional live music. Car park and decked sitting area to the rear. Daytime buses between York and Easingwold. Welcomes cyclists as it is very close to designated cycle routes.
