Cosy town centre pub serving good ales. Oak beamed rooms with a variety of brassware. The Grade II listed building dates back to the 18th century and appears to have been converted into a beerhouse in 1851, gaining a full license by 1955. Former E. Beds CAMRA Pub of the Year 2009. Six handpumps often feature a mild or porter and are sourced from across the UK. Up to four real ciders often featuring locale producers. It hosts a weekly meat raffle and a monthly quiz.
