This small single bar pub tucked away in a side street off Wade St near Old Market was taken over in March 2022 by Elmer of the nearby Elmers Arms. Once again it is a destination beer pub as it was in the 1990s. No regular beers but three or four guest cask beers, mainly, but not always, from local breweries are served. In addition 14 keg lines dispense a variety of beers, lagers and cider. One real cider too. Music at a comfortable volume is from the vinyl collection behind the bar. Food limited to simple snacks, with free roast potatoes on Sunday afternoons. May close a little earlier on Sundays if quiet. Ask the pub dog for a game of darts...
